Miramar Beach Fall Events 2026: Your Halloween & Festival Guide

Which one are you going to?

That question didn't used to make sense here. Miramar Beach has always had a fall calendar, but it used to unfold in a loose, forgiving rhythm: a festival one weekend, a concert series another, Halloween whenever it fell. This year the calendar got crowded, with events from three separate organizers filling the same six-week fall window. The result is a stretch of late October where you can't do everything, and a couple of nights where you'll have to pick.

That's worth mapping out now, before the choices land on you at the last minute.

Three Calendars, One Six-Week Window

Miramar Beach doesn't have a single events board deciding what happens when. It has three. Walton County runs its own public programming out of Miramar Beach Park. Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort runs its calendar inside the gates at The Village of Baytowne Wharf. And Grand Boulevard, the shopping and dining district near the resort's entrance, runs a third calendar through its own Arts & Entertainment Program.

Most years, those three calendars spread out enough that nobody notices they're separate. This year they didn't. Baytowne Wharf and Grand Boulevard both have Halloween programming on October 31, and their fall festival programming falls within the same two-week stretch in October. If you live here and only check one source, whether that's Sandestin's site or Grand Boulevard's, you're only getting a third of the picture.

October Warms Up Before It Gets Crowded

The first stretch of October stays relatively calm. The Miramar Beach Fall Festival runs October 10 at Miramar Beach Park, 10 AM to 4 PM, with vendors, food, and live music aimed squarely at families who want a Saturday outdoors without driving into Sandestin at all. It's the one event this fall that belongs entirely to the county side of the calendar, not the resort side.

Baytowne Wharf's Wednesday Night Concert Series comes back that week, kicking off October 7 with Funky Lampshades on the Events Plaza Stage, followed by Storm Folk on October 14 and Forrest Williams closing out the month on October 28. It's free, it runs 7 to 9 PM, and it's the kind of standing weekly plan that's easy to build a Wednesday around once you know the lineup exists.

The 18th Annual Baytowne Wharf Beer Fest lands October 16 and 17, with American craft beer sampling and live music on the lawn. It's ticketed, unlike most of what's on this list, so it's worth deciding early if that's the weekend you want to commit to. Baytowne Wharf has also flagged the return of its 38th Annual Sandestin Gumbo Festival for later this fall, though ticket details weren't locked as of late September. Given how long that event has run, it's safe to assume it'll land somewhere in the same corridor of weekends.

None of this is unusual on its own. What makes the first half of October worth planning around is that it's the calm stretch. The real congestion starts the last weekend of the month.

The 30 Hours When Everything Happens At Once

Here's where the two calendars actually collide. Grand Boulevard's Arts & Entertainment Program runs Barktoberfest, now in its 11th year, at Grand Park on Friday, October 30, from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. It's a canine costume contest and trick-or-treat event benefiting Dog-Harmony, with light bites from JC's Gourmet and music from DJ Diamond Dan. It's a Grand Boulevard event through and through, part of what the district calls its Coastal Culture Series.

The next evening, both districts have Halloween events scheduled. Grand Boulevard hosts Halloween on the BOOlevard from 4 to 6 PM, a free stroll through its Town Center with merchants passing out candy. As that wraps up, Baytowne Wharf's Trick or Treat Street starts at 6 PM and runs to 8, with live music from Steve Hall on the main stage and a fireworks display capping the night. Layer in a Halloween Dinner Cruise aboard the SOLARIS Yacht at Baytowne Marina, running 7 to 10 PM, and Baytowne on Ice quietly opening for the season that same day, and October 31 becomes the single most scheduled day in Miramar Beach all year.

Event Location Time (Oct 30-31)
Barktoberfest Grand Park, Grand Boulevard Fri 4:30-6:30 PM
Halloween on the BOOlevard Grand Boulevard Town Center Sat 4-6 PM
Trick or Treat Street The Village of Baytowne Wharf Sat 6-8 PM
Halloween Dinner Cruise SOLARIS Yacht, Baytowne Marina Sat 7-10 PM
Baytowne on Ice (season opens) Baytowne Wharf Events Plaza Sat, ongoing

If you've got a dog in costume and small kids, Friday and the early part of Saturday cover both. If you want fireworks and live music, that's Baytowne Wharf later Saturday night. Trying to do all of it in one trip means driving back and forth between two districts on the busiest night of the fall calendar, which is exactly the kind of thing a resident can plan around and a visitor usually can't.

What Opens the Same Night the Costumes Come Off

Baytowne on Ice deserves its own mention, because it gets buried under the Halloween noise every year despite being the longer commitment. It's the only outdoor ice rink in Northwest Florida, set up in the Events Plaza at Baytowne Wharf, and it opens October 31 and runs through February 8. For residents, that's a four-month window, not a one-night event, and it's worth remembering once the costumes come off and the trick-or-treat crowds clear out. The rink tends to get less crowded on weeknights than on the weekend it opens, so if skating is the plan, the second week of November is a quieter time to go than the debut weekend itself.

The One Weekend That Isn't Fighting for Your Attention

After the last weekend in October, the calendar actually loosens up. The 30A BBQ Festival runs November 7 at Grand Boulevard's North Lawn, and as far as the research shows, it's not competing with anything else that weekend. If the goal is one clean outing without cross-town scheduling gymnastics, that's the better bet than trying to squeeze in everything Halloween weekend offers.

Where to Eat Between All of It

Part of what makes this fall interesting for residents, beyond the events themselves, is that the dining scene around both districts has shifted enough to change where these nights out end up. Slick Lips Seafood & Oyster House is now officially open in Baytowne Wharf, a family-friendly spot built around local catch and fresh oysters that fits naturally into a night that starts with Trick or Treat Street or a Wednesday concert. Commelfo, also in Miramar Beach, has built a reputation around its European menu and a genuinely unusual 24-karat gold dessert selection, the kind of detail-driven spot that works better as a planned dinner than a walk-in before a festival. Inside Hotel Effie Sandestin, Ovide blends Gulf Coast and Southern cooking for something closer to a destination meal than a quick bite between events.

In Grand Boulevard, Vin'tij Food & Wine remains the district's long-standing anchor, and it's had a strong run of recognition lately. Chef Ignacio picked up the Best Chef Award in both 2025 and 2026, and the restaurant was named Best Special Occasion Restaurant by VIP Destin Magazine for 2026. If Barktoberfest or the BOOlevard trick-or-treat is on the schedule, Vin'tij sits close enough to make a dinner reservation the natural bookend to the evening.

None of this changes what Miramar Beach is at its core. It changes how much attention the calendar needs this particular fall. Events from three separate organizers fill the same six-week fall window, and the last weekend of October is where that shows. Knowing that now, instead of finding out the hard way on October 31, is the difference between choosing your Halloween and just showing up to whichever one you hear about first.
